The Asexual Agenda is looking for people to maintain the linkspam. Additionally, we are looking for people to write articles.
The Asexual Agenda is a blog written by ace-spectrum people, for ace-spectrum people, seeking to go beyond the basics. One of the most important features of the blog is the semi-weekly linkspam, which helps our readers connect to the larger conversation. The Asexual Agenda hosts articles on many topics, including personal experiences, relationships, language, intersectionality, activism, media, and more.
What it involves:
Maintaining the linkspam involves keeping an eye out for interesting links, and posting them once a week on Fridays (or less frequently if links cannot be found). You will not be alone; other Asexual Agenda contributors also help to find links.
For people applying to be writers, you will have a lot of freedom to choose your own topics, and your frequency of writing. You can take a look at our articles, but right now many of us are very long-winded and we would be happy to find people who write much shorter and lighter articles!
In either role, there will be a small amount of e-mail correspondence for administrative details, and constructive feedback. No experience with WordPress necessary.
How to apply:
To apply, please e-mail us at email@example.com by
March 22nd April 5th. Let us know if you’re interested in maintaining the linkspam, or writing articles, or both. Briefly (less than 100 words) tell us about yourself.
If you’re interested in the linkspam, please provide a 2-5 links that you’ve recently found that would fit into the linkspam. We’re interested in blogs, notable news articles, videos, tumblr conversations, whatever you can find. Check out our linkspam for examples.
If you’re interested in writing articles, please include a writing sample (300-1000 words) that you think could fit our blog. If you need ideas for what to write about, check out any of the topics in the Carnival of Aces archive.
If you know anyone else who might be interested, please share this with them!
Many people have asked if they can write just one thing, without making a longterm commitment. Yes! We are open to hosting guest posts year round. Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
