Question of the Week: March 18th, 2014

This day marks the largest art theft in U.S. history, occurring in 1990 from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, Massachusetts. If you could (legally) acquire any one piece of visual art, at no cost and with no strings attached, what piece would it be?

    Oh gosh, what a good question. I’m going with something Modigliani, probably Woman in the Yellow Jacket. There’s something quite lovely about her.

    Any of Vincent Van Gogh’s later works. Doesn’t matter which one, they’re all wonderful. His mastery of colour is phenomenal.

    One of Escher’s drawings that I like in particular, I have a reprint of it already. I never remember names. Or one of Giger’s sculptures.
