I don’t manage to be extra thoughtful that often. Fave gift given: digital compact camera, to my mother for her 60th, something she’d have never gotten herself back then. It’s seen quite a lot of use over the years and is still taking pretty good pictures.
Fave gift received… I’m undecided between the drivers license (paid for by my parents ages ago), and the flag-colored pulse warmers knitted by my best friend for my last birthday.

I think my favourite gift that I’ve given someone was a lullaby I wrote for my friend’s baby.

My favourite gift that I’ve ever received is a bit weird, because it’s not really a gift as such, but it was the best one for me. When I was a teenager I used to leave all these little notes for people: “Have a nice day!” “See you soon!” etc. No one left them for me, but I never really noticed that, I just wanted to show them I cared. Then one day I was working late with my friend, and I went out of the room to do something, and it took a while, and when I came back she’d gone home. And she’d left me a note that said “Have a nice day! 🙂 ” It was the first time someone had thought to do it. So simple, but so perfect.
