  1. Midori Skies says:

The study on “male asexuality” is for natal males. You might want to make note of that in the post, before any other trans men click on the link just to have their gender invalidated.

  2. Midori Skies says:

No, wait, apparently it’s a study for trans women, too, as the eligibility question just asks if you are AMAB (though the actual, incredibly cissexist, wording is “Were you born as an anatomical male?”). I’m sure all the ace trans women will be delighted to hear that they qualify to participate in a study on “male asexuality” /sarcasm

  4. I took that survey a couple of weeks ago. The questions in it were weird. You indicate that you’re an aromantic asexual, then are later faced with questions about “your preferred sex”, which it defines as “refers to individuals of the sex or sexes that you are sexually and/or romantically attracted to”.

Um, what part of “aromantic asexual” did you misunderstand?

And then, out of nowhere, it asked a series of questions about getting aroused by “your nude female body”. Because, apparently, “anatomical males” really all have “nude female bodies”?

I also recall a sort of menu of sexual activities, and I think you had to rate them as “arousing” or “disgusting”. For most of them, I don’t think of them as either arousing or disgusting, because I simply don’t think of them at all.

And then it asked if I’d find it sexually arousing to expose my genitals to strangers or spy on people taking showers.

Yeah, I totally want to have my privates hooked up to a machine and be forced to watch porn by people who run a survey like that.
