Question of the Week: June 18th, 2013

I asked this on Tumblr as well, but I’m curious what our readers think:

What do you think is the one thing the asexual population needs most?

  1. Seth says:

Inclusion in sex ed curricula. It’d help against the invalidation, and it’d be a big help for all the teen aces who would otherwise be left feeling confused and ‘broken’.

  2. Victrix says:

Recognition. And I use the term in both broad and specific sense. Broadly for everyday acceptance and acknowledgement and specifically at different levels such as discrimination laws and sex ed. Ultimately nothing can be well addressed and improved upon unless we get the recognition we need.

  3. Siggy says:

I think there needs to be more awareness among possible-asexuals. This is basically another way of saying that we need more visibility, but I propose that this is the most important reason to promote visibility. It’s not about educating allosexuals, but educating asexuals.
