I really like both the new banner and the new background!
It looks very Commodore 64-ish. I approve.
Oh, this is very nice!
Oooooh, looks awesome!
Are you going to set this as the favicon to? (There’s some way to do that on wordpress but I’m not sure on the details since I did it completely by accident)
The background is nice. Am I reading too much into it by seeing a Homestuck reference?
Probably, yes. But now I’m interested, what’s the connection to Homestuck?
Haha I totally though of homestuck too:
In homestuck, the trolls have a complex relationship system in which the main types of “romance” (which can vary a lot more than the human version) are signified by card suits:
Diamonds = moirallegance
Hearts = matesprits
Spades = Kismesis
Clubs = Auspistice
More info here: http://mspaintadventures.wikia.com/wiki/Quadrants
(Troll romance and it’s implications for human relationships, and the possibility of having multiple important forms of acceptable relationships, is a fascinating subject, btw. And seeing what fans do with the quadrant system and how that relates to humans is so cooool. )
Oh, right, the quadrants. I don’t think it is an intentional reference, ’cause the card suit symbolism in ace communities predates Homestuck (it connects with the word “ace”). It’s just a wonderful coincidence that Homestuck invented an incredibly asexy alien romantic system, and decided to represent the different romantic types with card suits.
One time I found myself raving to David Jay about Homestuck, but I’m not sure he had any idea what I was talking about.
actually looking at it now it also reminds me of nepeta’s shipping charts.
